Hey, I’m Jacob! (The guy writing this, not the cat pictured above. His name is Pastry.)

I’m an actor and writer based in New York City. I studied Drama and Communications at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and I’ve continued training at places like the UCB Theatre and The Barrow Group.

I’ve performed all over the city in the past decade—including shows at UCB, The PIT, and The Magnet—and my work has also taken me to Austin Sketch Fest, The New York Fringe Festival, and regional film festivals through indie shorts and features. A lot of my early work was rooted in comedy, but I’ve been leaning more into grounded film and television roles lately—the kind that let you show the cracks a bit.

My type is more or less Jason Segel: sweet, funny, a little awkward sometimes, but emotionally present. I’m definitely in my “young dad energy” era (no actual kids yet, just the vibe). I love playing characters who are trying their best, even when they’re in over their heads. Whether it’s comedy or drama, I’m drawn to the in-between moments—the quiet stuff that makes characters feel like real people.

When I’m not acting, I’m probably coding, writing, exercising in Riverside Park, or figuring out how to sneak more creative joy into my week.

Last but not least, I love to collaborate and would love to chat if you’re interested in doing something together.

Toodles!
